Another Alexa Picture

Alexa (finally has a name) and mom are doing well tonight. We have been out walking around the hallways. She (Alexa) seems to be eating a little better this evening. She was born 5 lbs 8.5 oz but is down to 5 lbs 3 oz (TINY). They all say that is perfectly normal so not to worry about it (going to anyway). We found out different people are bring dinner to us this week and we are truly thankful. We have been extremely happy with all of the nurses we have had in the hospital and thank them for all of their help. We get to go home tomorrow after the Dr.'s check out mom and baby.

Counting the Days

We are down to counting the days for Baby A's arrival. I (ha) still haven't decided on which name we are going with yet. Everybody tells us we should wait to see her to decide which name she looks like. Cassie is feeling better this week - not great just better. I think she is ready to be done with the pregnancy... even though I don't think it has been that bad (I am going to pay for that).

ZONA on MONDAY NIGHT!!!

I know this is the time that you have all been waiting for....the Arizona Cardinals playing on Monday night. I believe they have the fewest loses on Monday night of any team in the NFL.....mostly because the last time they played on Monday night I think they were the Chicago Cardinals. Go Card!!

STILL WORKING ON THE BASEMENT!!

We are still going on the basement. Parents we are here again today to help. Still painting the trim and other touch up spots. We did get the TV mounted on the stand. All of the baseboards and trim have been touched up with the wood filler...(we are not that good at putting it together so you have to use a lot of wood filler). This week we are hoping to finish up the cabinets, windows, access panels, and baseboards. Next week will be the railing for the stairs and that should wrap things up...I am sure we will find something else though.

House Pictures

Here are some pictures of the house. We have been working on the nursery - just have the baseboards and closet to finish. The basement is moving a little slower. We have the doors but they need to be painted. There just does not seem to be enough time in the day.

IPA Confernce

Just sitting in the hotel room trying to figure out which speakers to go to tomorrow at the Illinois Principal Conference in Peoria. There are a lot of topics they cover and it is hard to pick what I need (I think I need them all). Cassie has been getting a lot of leg cramps lately. It seems to be in her calf muscles but on the outside of her leg. I wish we could figure it out so she could sleep better.

NEW BABY PICTURES (Ultrasounds)

I just put on some new ultra-sound pictures from this week. I will get some new updated photos of the basement as well. The carpet is in, the cabinets are ordered and we should be finishing up the toilet today. We are probably going to take a break from the basement to do the little girls room next.

Trip to St. Louis, Fish Fry at Marlene's & Draft

I have uploaded some new photo's from our trip to St. Louis and a fish fry at Cassie's aunt Marlene's. We didn't take many pictures from St. Louis - we normally forget we even have the camera with us. We did get some good news from the Dr though. As long as Cassie keeps putting on weight we will not have to go back down. They said everything looked good on the ultrasound and she (the baby) currently weighs 1 lb 1 oz.

We then had a cookout at Cassie's aunts house. A lot of the family was there - the important one's anyway - and everybody had a great time. Zoe and Max would still be running up and down the hill if we would let them.

We ventured up to Carthage yesterday for the fantasy football draft. Cassie had the #1 pick and got the best team. Hopefully my managerial skills will be enough to help my team overachieve this year....(that joke might get me in trouble). I will try to upload some updated pictures of the basement. We haven't gotten much done lately. I have been grouting the tile and that seems to take forever. We are hoping to finish that up this week as weel as, get the carpet and cabinets ordered.

Udated some Photo's

I added some photo's tonight. I don't know if I really like the way blogger does the pictures. My account on swurl the pictures come in a better format...oh well. Here they come up as a slide show. Some are from my dad and I working on the basement. Most of the them are from a cookout @ Lance & Sara's. The boys are growing up fast!! Brady might start for the Carthage JH baseball team this year. It is good to see that Sara got a new pimp ride....another van. She was looking forward to another one.

I can't believe the Olympics are about over. It seems to being going so fast. It has been exciting to see the swimmers (Phelps, Torres) in action. There have been some great finishes.

I am looking forward to a new school year. It is exciting to be at a new school in a new job. We start with teachers meetings on Mon & Tues and the kids show up on Wed morning for a 1/2 day. We have a lot of new teachers both principals are new....it should be interesting.

Tiling the Basement

Here is a look at a professional tiling the basement (my great idea to save $$$). My uncle Steve came up this moring to get me started and it does seem to be going well. I have the bar area and most of the bathroom area done. Just one more room to go and we will be ready for some carpet. This is much better than being with my brother in Chi-town watching the Cards-Cubs (right). What was I thinking...should have gone. I didn't realize Glaus was going to shut his eyes on a couple of swings today.

Looked at a House

We looked at a house in between Quincy & Payson today. It is to be auctioned on AUG 11. It is a really nice house on 1.67 acres with a pond/lake in the back. We are just trying to figure out if we want a bigger house payment right now or not. It would be a perfect location for us about 1/2 way between each job. It would also be a great house if for friends (I know we would have to communicate more) to visit. You will have to check back............... (I know the suspense will kill you).............Just an update...the house didn't sell because there was a reserve on it......to much $$$$$$$.

Max's Birthday Party

Simple Cards

I have mixed feelings on the Cards standing by at the trading deadline. On one hand they shouldn't be in the race in the first place and you don't want to make a trade just to make a trade. On the other hand if you have a chance I think you have to take it. Just a couple of years ago they couldn't trade Anthony Reyes at the trading deadline because he was their future. Last week he could have been traded for a few barrels of oil. Why hold on to a couple of prospects that might turn out when you can get a proven player??

End of a Long Day

Hopefully the School-Based Child Nutrition Programs Administrative Workshop.....(that is a mouthful) will be ending in the near future so I can hit the road for home. I am sure my wife will be waiting for me a the door (with my slippers and supper ready). I believe we are going to work on the basement tomorrow afternoon. We still have tile, carpet, plumbing for the shower, vanity, toilet, doors, railing for the steps, cabinets and counter tops for the bar area to do.... I think that is it. We are hoping to be done by the middle of October so we can start preparing for a SUPER BOWL party.

Lunch Conference

Just sitting in my hotel room in Fairview Heights..... unable to sleep in anticipation for the lunch conference tomorrow. It has been quite a week after driving home through what seemed like a tornado....getting home and finding a tree on our roof (which you can see pictures of)... and we seem to fighting the insurance agent on the damages.....and still trying to finish the basement that was started over a year ago (which we have pictures of as well).

It was good to see the Cards pick up their third win in a row. Unfortunately Carp didn't pick up the win(fantasy baseball team). Just great to see him out there again. Mather hit a home run so he should be sent back to AAA.

Just in case everyone didn't know Cassie & I are expecting our first child in December - Christmas day. The Dr. thinks it is a girl...luckily we have added a third bathroom in the basement that I will be able to use.
